The Danish Refugee Council, one of the world's leading humanitarian NGOs, is seeking a highly qualified Head of Programme to join its team in Tunis. The Head of Programme reports directly to senior leadership and works closely with country and regional teams to design, implement, and oversee high-quality humanitarian and development programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and overall management of DRC programmes in Tunisia.
- Coordinate with donors, government agencies, UN organizations, and partner NGOs to ensure effective programme delivery.
- Lead proposal development, donor reporting, and resource mobilization efforts.
- Oversee programme monitoring, evaluation, and learning frameworks to ensure accountability and impact.
- Manage and mentor programme staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Ensure compliance with DRC policies, donor regulations, and national legal frameworks.
- Represent DRC in coordination meetings, clusters, and external forums at national and regional levels.
Qualifications & Experience
- Master's degree in International Development, Humanitarian Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive experience in programme management within the humanitarian or development sector.
- Proven track record in leading multi-donor programmes and large-scale project management.
- Strong skills in strategic planning, budgeting, and organizational leadership.
- Experience in donor relations, including USAID, ECHO, DANIDA, UN agencies, and other institutional donors.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in French and/or Arabic is a strong asset.
- Deep understanding of displacement issues, refugee protection, and humanitarian principles.
