About the Role
Septeo, a leading European software publisher and one of the top 5 industry-specific software companies in France, is looking for a Senior Symfony Backend Developer to join its team based in Tunis. This is an opportunity to work on internationally recognized software solutions within a fast-growing, innovation-driven environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust backend applications using Symfony framework
- Build scalable, high-performance APIs and microservices architectures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend developers, product managers, and QA engineers
- Write clean, well-documented, and testable code following industry best practices
- Participate in code reviews, technical design sessions, and sprint planning
- Optimize application performance, database queries, and server-side processes
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex backend issues across production and staging environments
- Contribute to continuous improvement of development workflows and CI/CD pipelines
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in backend PHP development
- Strong proficiency with the Symfony framework (versions 4/5/6/7)
- Solid understanding of RESTful API design and development
- Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
- Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git
- Knowledge of Docker and containerized development environments
- Understanding of SOLID principles, design patterns, and clean architecture
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities effectively
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Messenger, API Platform, or other Symfony ecosystem components
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
- Knowledge of Elasticsearch, Redis, or other caching/search tools
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Proficiency in English for international collaboration
- Experience in SaaS or enterprise software development
