Role Overview

A Registrar in Neurosurgery delivers specialized clinical care within the neurosurgical department of a leading healthcare facility in Kuwait, Al Asimah. This position involves direct patient management, surgical assistance, and collaboration with the Head of Department to ensure high-quality neurosurgical services. Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive clinical neurosurgical services including inpatient and outpatient care
• Assist in and perform neurosurgical procedures under supervision and independently as credentialed
• Manage pre-operative and post-operative patient care pathways for neurosurgery cases
• Conduct daily ward rounds, monitor patient progress, and adjust treatment plans
• Participate in emergency neurosurgical coverage and on-call rotations
• Collaborate with the Head of Neurosurgery Department on clinical protocols and quality improvement
• Document all clinical activities accurately in electronic medical records
• Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings, tumor boards, and case conferences
• Supervise and mentor junior medical staff and residents
• Contribute to clinical research, audits, and academic activities within the department

Requirements

Hard Skills & Qualifications

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with full registration eligibility in Kuwait
• Completion of core surgical training and entry into neurosurgery specialty training
• Valid medical license from Kuwait Ministry of Health or eligibility for licensure
• Demonstrated experience in cranial and spinal neurosurgical procedures
• Proficiency in neuroimaging interpretation (CT, MRI, angiography)
• Competence in ICU management of neurosurgical patients
• Knowledge of sterile technique, surgical safety checklists, and infection control
• Familiarity with hospital information systems and electronic health records
