About the Role
As a Junior Floor Server / Assistant Waiter / Demi Chef de Rang, you will support the smooth running of service in an upscale restaurant setting in Morocco. This role is ideal for motivated individuals with a passion for gastronomy, guest relations, and professional table service. You will work closely with the Chef de Rang and the broader service team to ensure an exceptional dining experience for every guest.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the dining room before service, ensuring all tables, linens, glassware, and cutlery meet establishment standards
- Assist the Chef de Rang during service, including carrying plates, clearing tables, and resetting between courses
- Welcome guests warmly, present menus, and provide recommendations on dishes and wine pairings
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and communicate special requests to the kitchen
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the dining area, side stations, and service corridors throughout service
- Handle guest inquiries and resolve minor complaints promptly, escalating to senior staff when necessary
- Assist with inventory checks, restocking of service stations, and proper storage of supplies
- Follow all health, safety, and hygiene protocols in accordance with food service regulations
Requirements
- Previous experience in restaurant service, hospitality, or a similar guest-facing role is preferred
- Strong communication skills and a natural sense of hospitality and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods
- Professional appearance, punctuality, and a positive team attitude
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage service techniques; familiarity with French service terminology is an asset
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and carry trays in a fast-paced environment
