We are seeking a polished and personable Hostess to serve as the first point of contact for our guests.

Role Overview

As a Hostess at Xenia Bar, you will be responsible for delivering a warm, seamless, and memorable welcome to every guest. You will manage reservations, coordinate seating arrangements, and ensure the front-of-house experience reflects the high standards of a five-star hotel restaurant in Bahrain.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests with genuine warmth and professionalism upon arrival
• Manage reservations, waitlists, and table assignments using the restaurant's booking system
• Escort guests to their tables and provide menus, ensuring a smooth seating flow
• Coordinate with servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to maintain efficient table turnover
• Answer phone calls and online inquiries regarding reservations, hours, and special events
• Maintain an immaculate and organized hostess stand and entrance area
• Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and minor complaints with poise and escalate when necessary
• Monitor dining room capacity and assist with crowd management during peak hours
• Support special events, private dining, and VIP guest arrangements as needed
• Uphold all health, safety, and hygiene standards in line with Mövenpick brand guidelines

Requirements

Hard Skills

• Proven experience in a hostess, front-of-house, or guest relations role within a hotel restaurant or upscale dining establishment
• Familiarity with reservation and table management systems (e.g., OpenTable, Seven Rooms, or POS-integrated platforms)
• Strong command of English; proficiency in Arabic is a distinct advantage
• Professional phone etiquette and basic computer literacy

Soft Skills

• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with a natural ability to make guests feel valued
• Well-groomed appearance and impeccable personal presentation aligned with five-star hospitality standards
• Ability to remain calm, organized, and courteous under pressure during busy service periods
• Strong sense of teamwork and collaboration with all F&B departments
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
• Attention to detail in managing bookings, guest preferences, and special requests
