The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) is seeking a highly motivated Program Support Intern to join its team in Morocco. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the promotion of socially and environmentally sustainable urban development, directly supporting UN-Habitat's mandate from the UN General Assembly. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience in program management, research, and administrative support within a dynamic international organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the coordination and implementation of program activities related to sustainable urban development and human settlements.
- Conduct research and compile data on urban policies, housing, and environmental sustainability in the Moroccan context.
- Support the preparation of reports, presentations, and project documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in organizing meetings, workshops, and events, including logistical and administrative tasks.
- Provide administrative support to the program team, including drafting correspondence, managing files, and maintaining databases.
- Contribute to communication and outreach efforts, including content for social media and the UN-Habitat website.
Requirements
- Enrolled in or recently completed a university degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in urban planning, international development, environmental studies, political science, public administration, or a related field.
- Strong research, analytical, and writing skills.
- Excellent command of English (both written and spoken). Knowledge of French or Arabic is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Previous internship or volunteer experience in sustainable development or international organizations is desirable.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools.
- Knowledge of the Moroccan urban context and challenges.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
