Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Specialist in General Surgery to join our medical team. The Specialist will be responsible for performing a wide range of surgical procedures, managing patient care before, during, and after operations, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest standards of surgical treatment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments, review medical histories, and order/interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., imaging, lab work) to determine the best surgical approach.
- Perform a variety of general surgical procedures including, but not limited to, appendectomies, hernia repairs, cholecystectomies, and bowel surgeries.
- Manage post-operative care, monitor patient recovery, address complications, and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists, nurses, and other specialists to ensure coordinated and safe patient care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, surgical notes, and discharge summaries.
- Participate in clinical meetings, case reviews, and continuous professional development activities.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, safety protocols, and ethical standards in surgical practice.
Required Qualifications
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
- Completed residency training in General Surgery from a recognized program.
- Board certification or equivalent qualification in General Surgery.
- Valid medical license to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience as a practicing General Surgeon.
- Excellent surgical skills with a track record of successful patient outcomes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
- Commitment to patient safety and quality improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fellowship or advanced training in a subspecialty of general surgery (e.g., colorectal, hepatobiliary, bariatric).
- Experience in minimally invasive and laparoscopic surgery.
- Previous work in a hospital or surgical center with a high volume of diverse cases.
- Active participation in surgical research or publications.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
