About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Accountant - Payable to join a reputable organization in Bahrain. This role focuses on managing the full accounts payable and receivable cycle, including vendor relations, check disbursements, and the safeguarding of post-dated cheques. As a key member of the finance team, you will ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with internal policies. This position is ideal for an experienced AP Accountant or Accounts Payable Manager looking to contribute to a dynamic work environment in Bahrain.

Responsibilities

• Manage the accounts payable process, including processing invoices, verifying approvals, and ensuring timely payments to vendors.
• Oversee accounts receivable functions, including tracking receipts, reconciling customer accounts, and managing collections.
• Maintain and safeguard Post-Dated Cheques (PDCs), ensuring accurate recording and timely deposit or return.
• Build and maintain strong vendor relationships, resolving payment discrepancies and negotiating terms as needed.
• Prepare regular reports on payables and receivables aging, cash flow projections, and other financial metrics for management review.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements in Bahrain.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and audit support.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Chief Accountant, Accounts Payable Manager, or Senior Accountant with a focus on payables and receivables.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., ERP systems) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage high volumes of transactions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, internal teams, and management.
• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required; professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.
