About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Planning Manager to lead and oversee all planning activities and project controls across multiple projects. This role ensures that best practices are applied in scheduling, progress monitoring, and reporting to support strategic decision-making. The Planning Manager will be the key point of contact for highlighting overall project progress to management, identifying risks, and driving timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, work breakdown structures, and resource plans.
- Monitor project progress against baselines, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure effective implementation of project controls systems and procedures across all projects.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineering, procurement, and construction teams to align planning activities.
- Prepare regular progress reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
- Conduct risk assessments and integrate mitigation strategies into the planning process.
- Lead planning meetings and facilitate communication among cross-functional teams.
- Mentor and supervise planning staff, ensuring adherence to company standards and industry best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in project planning, scheduling, and project controls, preferably in the construction or engineering sector.
- Strong proficiency in planning software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is a plus.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in the Qatar or GCC region.
- Certification in project management (PMP, CCP, or similar).
- Familiarity with earned value management (EVM) and risk management tools.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
