About the Role
Our client, the largest domestic multinational expanding their presence across principal international markets, is seeking a dedicated Finance Officer to join their finance team in Bahrain. This position plays a critical role in supporting daily financial operations, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and contributing to accurate financial reporting for a growing international organization. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic, cross-functional environment and possess strong analytical skills with a solid foundation in accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local Bahraini regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
- Ensure timely and accurate VAT filings and compliance with Bahrain’s National Bureau for Revenue (NBR) regulations.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to aid strategic decision-making.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners to facilitate audits and financial reviews.
- Maintain fixed asset registers, depreciation schedules, and intercompany reconciliation across group entities.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
- Assist in ERP system optimization (e.g., Oracle, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics) and process automation initiatives.
- Collaborate with regional finance teams to standardize reporting frameworks across international markets.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CMA, or CIMA) strongly preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of progressive experience in a finance or accounting role within a multinational corporation or Big 4 environment.
- Proven expertise in IFRS, GCC VAT regulations, and Bahrain Commercial Companies Law.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Power Query) and hands-on experience with ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multicultural setting.
- Fluency in English; Arabic language proficiency is a distinct advantage.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with financial consolidation across multiple jurisdictions.
- Knowledge of transfer pricing documentation and compliance.
- Familiarity with robotic process automation (RPA) or data analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau).
- Prior exposure to the Bahraini market or wider GCC financial landscape.
