Full job description:
- The Cost Estimator will be
responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost
estimates for various projects. This role requires a strong
understanding of cost analysis, budgeting, and financial
forecasting to ensure projects are completed within budgetary
constraints.
• Analyze project requirements and
specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates.
•
Develop and maintain a cost database for materials, labor, and
other expenses.
• Review and interpret blueprints,
technical drawings, and specifications.
• Consult with
engineers, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to
obtain necessary information.
• Prepare detailed project
budgets and financial forecasts.
• Compile and present
cost estimation reports and findings to management.
•
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of cost estimates,
budgets, and financial forecasts.
• Work closely with
project managers, procurement teams, and other departments to
ensure accurate and timely cost estimations
• Mentor &
supports the review of the estimates prepared by other cost
engineers to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with
scope of work.
- create detailed cost breakdowns to submit
as bids or quotes for projects, ensuring all potential expenses
are included.
- Estimators review architectural and
engineering drawings to determine the types and quantities of
materials required.
- Estimators calculate the quantities of
materials needed (e.g., furniture, wallpaper, curtains, finishing
materials) to accurately predict project costs.
- They stay
informed on market trends, material prices, and labor rates to
ensure accurate cost projections.
- Estimators work closely
with the design team and contractors to ensure the cost estimates
align with project specifications and timelines.
